Do SEAL-ONCE products prevent efflorescence?

Yes, SEAL-ONCE® NANO GUARDTM, NANO GUARD PLUS POLY and ACRYLIC POLY all prevent efflorescence, which occurs when water penetrates the concrete and leaches out naturally-occurring salts, creating undesirable white stains on the concrete. Efflorescence must be removed prior to applying SEAL-ONCE products. We recommend using our Re-New Concrete cleaner.

Can SEAL-ONCE products be applied to green concrete?

Yes, SEAL-ONCE® NANO GUARDTM can be applied to green concrete once the concrete has completely hardened and all of the water has evaporated. We do not recommend applying SEAL-ONCE NANO GUARD PLUS POLY or ACRYLIC POLY to green concrete, however both products can be applied once the concrete has fully cured.

Can SEAL-ONCE products be applied to green or freshly cut wood?

SEAL-ONCE® NANO GUARDTM and NANO GUARD PLUS POLY can be applied to freshly cut wood because they create a breathable barrier, allowing water vapor to escape as the wood ages. We do not recommend using SEAL-ONCE ACRYLIC POLY on freshly cut wood as it creates a surface coating and is not breathable.

Do I need to sand the surface between coats of SEAL-ONCE ACRYLIC POLY?

No, it is not necessary to sand the surface between coats of SEAL-ONCE® ACRYLIC POLY, if the proper application procedures have been followed. At what temperatures can I apply SEAL-ONCE products?

SEAL-ONCE® NANO GUARDTM should be applied at temperatures between 45°F (7.22°C) and 95°F (35°C). SEAL-ONCE NANO GUARD PLUS POLY and ACRYLIC POLY should be applied between 50°F (10°C) to 95°F (35°C). These temperature ranges apply to both surface and air temperature.
